Today, I have discovered (Thanks to ShinJuggalo) one of the greatest video games of all time, and it’s not even being developed by a gaming company:

That’s right. A 2D fighting game featuring some of the greatest horror icons of all time. Why in the hell hasnt this game a cross-platform franchise already? Before I start gushing about every shred of awesomeness this game possesses, check out the trailer:
Before I go any further, you’ve got three options: check out the website and let them explain everything (although, the site still has alot of unfinished sections), check out everything about the game I want to show you, or skip to the bottom of this post to download the demo and just start playing without letting me spoiling everything first. Yeah thats right, you can play it, Right Now.
Okay, you saw the intro screenshot above. Once you press start, you get the start menu-

The various movie posters from the characters in the game scroll up and down the screen in the background while you select the number of players.

When you get to the character select screen, you’ve got 4 players to choose from in the demo: Leatherface, Ash, Freddy, or Michael. The unselectable characters, which should be unlocked for the full game are: Candyman, Alice (from the Resident Evil movie, I hope they replace her), Ghostface, Chucky, Pinhead, Jason, Maniac Cop (which I also hope they replace), and The Re-Animator himself. There’s also a list of special moves under each character to help you get started, but it’s not a full list

After you select your fighter, you get an intro / loading screen of the character you’re about to fight, posing against the level from their movie. There is also one of their quotes from the movie.

As the match begins, this bad ass blood slash splatters on the screen to tell you which round youre on, based on sequels from the characters franchises. “Part 3: Final Chapter” (even if their are two more rounds left, lol) and the characters that talk have intro taunts.

Each character has their own stage from their movie, like the Myers House pictured above, as Ash summons some deadites from the Necronomicon. (!!!) Michael doesnt have as many moves as the other characters, but he sure can get stabby with that knife. I think he can even dual wield. When he wins, he stands over his victim and tilts his head to the side. Awesome.

Jason isnt in the demo, but here are Mike and Freddy fighting on a pier at Camp Crystal Lake. Freddy is doing a soul stealing move. I didnt get a screenshot of it, but there is a sweet sign for the camp all the way to the right of the stage. Each stage has the music from the movie as the background music, too. Except the Myers house, for some reason. The music is awesome though because it gives a scary atmosphere but its frantic enough to give the fights a great sense of urgency. Ingenious.

Here’s Mike and Leatherface fighting on Freddy’s stage.

This is a clearer look at one of Freddy’s special moves.

Leatherface has a special move where he drops his chainsaw and busts out his trusty hammer.

Ive got more screenshots from the trailer but theyre blurry and dont really do the game’s graphics justice. Like this one, on Re-Animator’s stage, where Freddy throws some stretchy arm knife glove action.
Thats enough screens for now. I dont want to spoil EVERYTHING
Im super freakin excited for the full version of this game though. Go download the demo and if you like it enough, show your support so the makers will be motivated to finish it!

Man a game company needs to pick this up, add about 40 characters, polish it n release it. Too good for Pc, Keep Up The Great Work!
