A group of backpackers go missing near Crystal Lake and the brother of one of the missing girls searches the nearby town on a mission to find her. When he finds help from a group of friends staying at a cabin near Camp Crystal Lake, they unintentionally attract the attention of a local legend named Jason Voorhees who supposedly drowned on Friday the 13th, and has been out for the revenge of his murdered mother ever since.
